Over the years we have enjoyed collecting and using pots to cook in and eat from. I love to make jugs and bowls – finding the shapes infinitely varied and challenging. Recently I have found myself drawn back to making simple lugged soup bowls. As a child we had one or two from Bernard Leach’s pottery in St Ives and the memory of their form and texture is still with me nearly 50 years later. Also the discipline of making bowls at Aldermaston was a great influence on my work- not the decoration but in the sweep of the inside curve. I make sets of bowls, one- off larger bowls, jugs, mugs & vases.
